Berlin, 28 November 2024 — The first door on the Advent calendar will be opened soon, and the first candle on the wreath is lit. For many, Advent marks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year, and Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin celebrates the season by glowing with atmospheric lights both inside and out. Magnificently adorned with luxurious festive decorations, the grand hotel enchants guests and visitors with Christmas delights for all the senses. The Christmas trees, stylishly decorated with small Steiff animals and elegant Adlon baubles, sparkle throughout the public areas of the iconic hotel. These, alongside life-size creations from the world-famous cuddly toy brand, create a festive ambience that is highly sought after each year as a backdrop for selfies and souvenir photos.
I. New and Exceptional Offers
The Adlon Flower Atelier & Boutique, the latest addition to the luxury hotel’s portfolio, provides a refined solution to pre-Christmas shopping stress. This new store, located at the rear of the hotel, offers an exquisite selection of popular Adlon souvenirs, extravagant vases, limited-edition Adlon Christmas tree baubles, interior design pieces and other treasures. It also features artfully arranged Christmas decorations and flower bouquets crafted by the hotel’s experienced floristry team. In addition, table reservations for the hotel’s festive dining options and the popular ‘Adlon à la Karte’ voucher card — allowing recipients to choose from a variety of luxurious Adlon experiences, including moments of relaxation at Berlin’s newest five-star wellness oasis — can be purchased here daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Alternatively, they can be conveniently printed at any time via the online voucher shop.
After last year’s outstanding success, the gospel choir led by pianist Joseph Odogu and his singers returns to delight audiences. They will perform in the hotel lobby and on the balcony above Adlon’s main entrance on the last three Saturdays of Advent from 14:00. From these locations, the musical quartet will send rousing pre-Christmas greetings to guests, Berliners and tourists alike.
II. Culinary Delights
The Christmas roast season kicks off with the ‘Goose in Two Courses’ duet at Brasserie Quarré, available until 23 December 2024. This festive offering begins with a spiced goose essence paired with goose liver, followed by a traditional serving of goose breast and leg, accompanied by potato dumplings, apple and red cabbage. The menu is priced at EUR 72 per person. ‘This absolute festive classic is requested by our guests every year and is a must at this time of year,’ reveals Adlon Executive Chef Stephan Eberhard. ‘In addition to crispy goose and duck with their most popular side dishes here in Germany, our diverse culinary Christmas offerings naturally also include vegetarian and vegan delicacies, which are becoming increasingly popular,’ says the gourmet expert.
As dusk falls over the capital city, guests can indulge in the Festive Adlon Afternoon Tea on the cosy Bel Etage. Available on all weekends in December, from Thursday to Sunday, this elegant tea experience includes an alcohol-free tea-based welcome cocktail, oven-warm cranberry or tonka bean scones with jam and clotted cream and three courses featuring cinnamon salmon with apple chutney, brie and dill madeleines with keta caviar and Christmas pudding. Priced at EUR 79 per person, the tea is available for children aged 6 to 12 at EUR 37. Guests can also complement the traditional tea ceremony with the finest Dresden-style Adlon stollen from the in-house patisserie, available to enjoy on-site or to purchase in elegant wooden boxes to take away.
Accompanied by live harp music, the Adlon Champagne Advent Brunch in the Brasserie Quarré on all four Advent Sundays and the Adlon Champagne Holiday Brunch on the Bel Etage on 25 December, combine highlights from the opulent Adlon breakfast buffet with winter classics. From 12:30 to 15:30, culinary temptations such as freshly caught oysters and shellfish, champagne risotto, crispy roast duck or goose and other festive dishes await. Sophisticated desserts, including Adlon stollen and Baumkuchen, complete the buffet. The price per person, inclusive of champagne, red and white wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee specialities, is EUR 195, with prices halved for children.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Brasserie Quarré presents modern interpretations of classic Franco-German festive dishes in an exquisite four-course menu. The meal begins with beet salmon accompanied by beech mushrooms and mulled wine jelly, followed by wild duck essence and pink roast duck breast with truffled potato mille feuille. To conclude, a caramelia nougat mousse with speculoos pâte brisée offers a sweet finale. The menu is priced at EUR 155 per person, with a vegan dinner alternative also available.
For those who prefer to customise their dining experience, the Christmas Buffet on the Bel Etage on Christmas Eve from 18:30 offers a rich selection of festive starters, roast goose and duck with classic side dishes, live cooking stations including vegetarian and vegan treats and a decadent dessert selection featuring gingerbread crème brûlée and baked apple. Priced at EUR 195 per person, the buffet includes a glass of champagne, water, soft drinks, wine, beer, coffee and tea.
