Shanghai, 1 August 2025 – Kempinski Hotels is delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Seven Cities, Seven Flavours’ culinary tour across Greater China, scheduled from 1 August to 19 September 2025. This exceptional promotion celebrates the rich culinary traditions and regional identities of Nanjing, Fuzhou, Shanghai, Yinchuan, Suzhou, Beijing and Changsha through a meticulously curated seven-course tasting menu.

Created by seven of Kempinski’s distinguished Chinese executive chefs, the menu features courses that each encapsulate the essence of their respective destinations. Guests will embark on a gastronomic journey through the refined elegance of early 20th-century Nanjing, the coastal charm of Fuzhou, the metropolitan flair of Shanghai, the rustic boldness of Ningxia, the poetic grace of Suzhou, the imperial sophistication of Beijing and the vibrant spice of Changsha.

This innovative menu artfully blends heritage with modern culinary techniques, creating a culinary map that reflects the diverse tapestry of Chinese culture. The seven-course menu includes:

Appetiser: Nanjing Salted Duck – A revered dish from China’s Six Dynasties, recognised as an intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu Province.
Soup: Fuzhou Red Crab Cream Soup – A harmonious fusion of Chinese and Western culinary techniques, celebrating the maritime Silk Road.
Main Course 1: Braised Mandarin Fish from Shanghai – A dish characterised by elegance and precision, embodying the refined cuisine of Shanghai.
Main Course 2: Boiled Lamb Chop from Ningxia – A robust and flavourful representation of the culinary richness from China’s northwest.
Main Course 3: Fried Triple River Shrimp with Lotus Leaf from Suzhou – An artisanal delicacy showcasing handcrafted shrimp.
Main Course 4: Noodles with Soy Bean Paste from Beijing – A quintessential dish that embodies the essence of hutong life and local flavours.
Dessert: Spicy Crawfish Ice Cream from Changsha – An audacious and contemporary creation that pays homage to Hunan’s renowned spicy cuisine.

To enhance the guest experience, the culinary journey will be complemented by a  ‘Seven Touchpoints Sensory Journey’. This immersive experience includes dialectal greetings, personalised tea cup selections, scroll-style menus, story cards accompanying each dish, chef interactions and customised farewell gifts, all designed to create a captivating narrative that engages all five senses.
