Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz hosts Stephen Mifsud’s Metal Art Exhibition
Gozo, Malta, 24 February 2017 – Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz is glad to announce the collaboration with the local artist Stephen Mifsud. The hotel hosts a thrilling exhibition in its lobby area with Mr Mifsud’s latest creations.
The unique exhibition showcases the true art of metal in its various exciting and surprising forms. Using recycled parts as the main material, the artist brings new life to the discarded parts of metal in a fascinating way. One of the masterpieces, the “WARHORSE”, is an awe-inspiring and over 2-m-tall colourful metal sculpture. It took four months for the artist to build it from used bus, bicycle and car parts. One interesting detail is a piece of metal indicating its origins, coming from an old Rolls-Royce.
In line with Kempinski’s corporate social responsibility actions supporting local art and culture, this exhibition sheds light on today’s modern Gozitan art. Guests and visitors are warmly invited to explore the new life of metal.
Stephen Mifsud is a Canadian-born artist who has gained a reputation through his various unique pieces of art ever since moving back to Gozo. His creations have been present in several local exhibitions showcasing his talent, through works from airbrushed acrylic canvas to ironmongery combining function and beauty.
