General construction under way

Neu-Isenburg, 22 May 2012 - The preparatory operations are already in full progress and on June 11th we will kick off: within the months to come, the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch Frankfurt will be essentially renovated and partially reconstructed. Until the end of 2014 the Five-Star-Superior-Hotel nearby Frankfurt is supposed to shine in a new, unmistakable style, which revives the historic character of the hotel and simultaneously emphasizes the rustic charm of the former estate and hunting lodge.

The renovation and reconstruction are going to take place during continuous ongoing business and is planned so that the guests will hardly be disturbed. The new owner released an amount of several millions for the rebuilding. „The renovation and reconstruction work will affect all essential parts of the hotel – all rooms, the Forsthaus Restaurant , the lobby, the reception area, the bar, conference and function rooms as well as parts of the grounds“, outlines the hotel manager Stefan Schwind. New furnishings, new fixtures, new designs and the entire rearrangement of individual areas are expected to change the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch into a conference and event hotel with a distinct country club character. The emphasis lies on the attractive connection between work and relaxation. The concept of the planer is to return to tradition and historical background, the concentration towards the events business and a better utilization of the spacious grounds. To a certain degree even the local population will benefit from the reconstruction. The restaurant and bar are more than ever supposed to be places for meetings and for celebrations.

„All the while the hotel was an essential grandeur of our touristic
infrastructure“, says the mayor of Neu-Isenburg Herbert Hunkel. „All the
more we are delighted of course, that the reconstruction work will make the
house even more high class again.“ District chief executive Oliver Quilling is
confident: „I am sure, the new Kempinski is going to bring even more guests
and will advertise our region and its advantages.“

More function rooms and an extension of the food and beverage areas
The first rooms are next from mid June of this year, in stages all remaining ones will be renovated along with the bathrooms. The largest part will be finished in spring 2013. The number of rooms will be reduced form currently 285: after completion of the reconstruction work, the hotel will have 240 rooms available. Predominantly in the old part of our building, units will be combined and thereby enlarged.

The function area will also be extended: Instead of 900 square meter, there will be an area of 1.800 square meter for congresses, conferences and events of all shades, from product launch to fairytale wedding. Furthermore there will be an additional ballroom, which will be developed from mid March 2013 on the area of the present delivery courtyard. Even the food and beverage outlets are going to change: the Forsthaus
Restaurant is supposed to have about 100 seats more after the completion of the work, which will altogether lead to a seating capacity of 180. The attached park terrace will also be enlarged to about 100 square meters. As for the bar and Smoker’s Lounge, extensive refurbishment work is scheduled with a generous lake terrace emerging. The entrance hall will shortly shine in new splendour, the lobby, the reception as well as the entire hotel hallways. If nothing else, the construction will even cover the outdoor areas: the redevelopment of the car park and the new planting of the outdoor enclosure are in queue.

Many things happening behind the scenes
Only by redeveloping the guest areas we will stop. New wiring systems, the reconstruction of the kitchen, relocation of the delivery, installation of water filters and an additional power station: the renovation and modernisation work will also go on behind the scenes and guaranty energy savings up to 70% for the future compared to today. The finalisation of the complete work is expected midyear 2014.
