As a harbour city, Dalian is rich in fish, shrimp, scallops and seaweed, which are the key ingredients for our cuisine. Seafood is undoubtedly Dalian’s most famous asset.
Our famous sea cucumber is marinated in a unique sauce, mixed with Chinese liquor (Bai Jiu). It is followed by shrimps, sole fish and scallops seasoned by rice wine, oyster sauce and soy sauce.
What makes it special?
The waters of the BoHai and Yellow Sea meet at Dalian. The aquatic junction at 120° east and 38° north fosters the perfect climate for the Dalian sea cucumber, helping to cultivate its unique taste and outstanding nutritional profile. It is particularly rich in vitamin A and proteins with virtually no fat.
Braised Dalian Seafood Platter is a traditional north-eastern dish to eat together in a familiar atmosphere. The finished dish is characterised by rich flavour and lingering aroma that reflects Dalian’s name in China as the finest place to enjoy seafood.
