Oliver Kraft to be new Restaurant Manager at the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer
Berlin, March 21, 2016. There are changes afoot in the service management of the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer. On 23 August, Oliver Kraft will be taking over the management of the gourmet restaurant in Hotel Adlon Kempinski, a restaurant which has been awarded two Michelin stars, 18 Gault Millau points and the highest rating of the culinary travel guide, “Gusto”. Oliver is taking up this position after almost seven years of successful service at the Leipzig restaurant “Falco”. He will be succeeding Boris Häbel, who will also be moving on after seven years to a new challenge as Maître in the Munich restaurant “Tantris”.
“I had a wonderful time in Leipzig,” says Oliver Kraft. “When you feel content in both your job and personal life, there are not many attractive alternatives to draw you away. But the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer is quite definitely one of those alternatives. That’s why I was delighted to receive the offer and decided to return to Berlin. I am looking forward to working with the new team and following several private visits have already discovered that my philosophy of a professional yet informal service culture is practised here too.”
Besides the two-star restaurant “Falco” in Hotel The Westin which is among the best restaurants in Germany, the 39-year-old can look back on a number of other positions in top German gastronomy. So Hendrik Otto is not unknown to him. Both worked together in Restaurant “Vitrum” in Hotel Ritz Carlton Berlin for one and a half years in 2008 and have regularly kept in touch since.

Born in Baden-Württemberg, Oliver’s career began in 1998 when he finished his training as a restaurant specialist in Hotel und Restaurant “Villa Hammerschmiede” in Pfinztal-Sölingen. He then worked in “Söl’ring Hof” in Rantum on Sylt (2000-2001) where Oliver met his first important mentor, chef Johannes King, and later in the one- star restaurant “Weber’s Groumet im Turm”, Stuttgart (2001-2003). His career path then led him to the “Speisemeisterei”, Stuttgart awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide, where he was Restaurant Manager for the first time (2003-2007).
Oliver Kraft plays pool in his free time, enjoys going out to eat and uses his holidays to travel round the world.
