Authentic Local Culture

In the Bavarian Alps
Authentic Local Culture

The hotel’s slogan is pure alpine lifestyle – immerse yourself in a world full of pure luxury, in the middle of the Bavarian Alps. The Alps are impressive, with glittering snow in winter and flourishing pastures in summer. Our tip: Experience thepanoramic “Rossfeld” route at an altitude of 1,600 metres. The curvy street offers a phenomenal view over the Bavarian Alps. It is definitely worth a visit!

Bavarian culture is a common theme visible throughout the hotel. The employees will warmly welcome you while dressed in traditional Bavarian costumes – Dirndl for the women and Lederhosen for the men. When you visit the hotel’s restaurant, the “Johann Grill”, you might wonder about the name. In 1881, Johann Grill was the first mountaineer to cross the famous Watzmann Mountain in Berchtesgaden, thus achieving a memorable Alpine feat.

In the mountains, it is calmer, more relaxed, and the people live a more laid-back lifestyle than in the cities. Get to know the culture of the locals, which have lived in Southern Germany throughout many generations. One of their traditions are wooden carvings that you can marvel at in museums or at the yearly Christmas market in Berchtesgaden.

Are you looking for an incentive? The Activity Concierge Team helps you to find hidden gems amidst the natural environment surrounding the hotel when you go hiking in summer, as well as in winter.
