Gerhard E. Mitrovits appointed Managing Director of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center

Gerhard E. Mitrovits is appointed Managing Director of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center. An Austrian national, Gerhard Mitrovits has arrived to Beijing from Moscow as Area Director in Russia and CIS in charge of 5 hotels, and the General Manager of the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow.

Before he was responsible for pre-opening and successful new opening of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta where is the city’s landmark. He also used to lead 5-star Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, the highlight of Steigenberger to Top 40 ranking Hotels worldwide.

Gerhard brings to Beijing more than 40 years of a rich hospitality industry experience with approximately 4000 rooms in four continents from Grand Hyatt Taipei. He successfully managed 8 hotels of InterContinental Hotel Group in Germany and Austria as Regional Gerneral Manager and numerous InterContinental Hotels in New York, Riyadh-Saudi Arabia and Cairo-Egypt.

Starting his career in Food & Beverage, he received several accolades for his professionalism and outstanding performance, including “Hotel Manager of the year 2007” by Busche – ARAL Publishing House in Germany. His first achievement was in 1985 as he received recognition as “F&B Manager of The Year” by West Germany Brillat Savarin Association and another great accomplishment, when he obtained the “Brillat Savarin Industry Award” in 2002. Furthure more, he has been an active member of Global Hoteliers Club for 13 years and was in charge as a Bailli of Moscow’s “Chaine des Rottiseurs”.

Now Gerhard Mitrovits is well-groomed to take over the reigns of the 526-room Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center.
