Having worked in the Chinese culinary industry for well over 40 years, Chef Hong Sai Choi brings a wealth of experience to his chef's role at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Centre. Throughout his life he has worked in a number of internationally renowned hotels and restaurants in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Beijing.
Motivated by the unlimited inspiration of the Chinese culinary arts from an early age, he followed in the footsteps of his two elder brothers and entered the industry to much acclaim.
Chef Hong won first prize in a Chinese cuisine contest in Singapore and has also worked alongside Chef Martin Yan - one of the most famous Chinese chefs in the world - presenting Chinese cuisine across several television cooking shows. Together with Chef Martin, he catered for a charity dinner of 1,800 guests at the famous Abalone Ah Yat Restaurant in Singapore.
When he's not cooking, Chef Hong likes to travel around the world, tasting the finest local food, exploring new culinary trends and developing new dishes for his customers. He enjoys reading too, particularly culinary books from all over the world.
