The hotel made one child’s dream come true
Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko participated in the "Support a Dream" project under the patronage of the President of Republic of Bulgaria. This is a project that helps young people who have completed secondary education or vocational training and those who are leaving institutions, centres for family-type accommodation or sheltered housing.
As part of the project, meetings for these youth have been organised with employers across the country to help provide motivation, mentoring and support as they continue their education and/or career.
The General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, Mr Athanassios Manos, chose to participate in these meetings after receiving an invitation from The Bulgarian Association of Human Resources Management.
Presently, the hotel is a proud employer of a young man who grew up without parents and graduated from the social education-professional centre "Knyaz Boris I", in Sofia. His studies focused on cooking. The youngster has been hired on a full-time, permanent contract. He is already a member of the kitchen team of the hotel and receiving training from the Sous Chef.
He was personally welcomed by the General Manager, who had the chance to attend his graduation ball in May upon invitation by the school. Mr Manos commented, “I am very proud that we had the chance to participate in the project and, herewith, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the agencies and ministries involved in the organisation and realisation of the ‘Support a Dream’ project. We are personally committed to continuing to participate in the future in such noble causes, which are absolutely in line with the Kempinski policy of developing and supporting young talents. I hope that in the future, more companies will follow us and get involved in these projects in order to help more children. I am glad that, as Kempinski ambassadors in Bulgaria, we made a childhood dream come true."
