Doha, November 20, 2012; More than 50 people donated blood on Tuesday, 20 November on the premises of Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha. The hotel invited the mobile blood donation unit of Hamad Medical Corporation, in line with the numerous activities related to social responsibility and community service that the hotel undertakes. The blood donation day was promoted internally with a creative and informative campaign that invited everybody to give blood and save lives. The response exceeded all expectations, with senior management, staff and guests voluntarily queuing to donate blood.
Mr Wissam Suleiman, General Manager said: “We are proud to support Hamad Medical Corporation and promote good health for our community. We are constantly encouraging our employees to support the community in many ways and I am happy that the blood donation day had a good response from my team.”
Educational posters and leaflets were distributed to all participating staff in order to raise awareness about donating blood. Staff from the mobile blood donation unit of Hamad Medical Corporation made sure that all donors met the criteria and that the whole process met all safety standards.
The social responsibility programme of Kempinski will continue with the Green Day on 1 December, when a team of employees will clean the Corniche of Doha as part of the Green Inspiration by Kempinski programme. The programme launched earlier this year at Kempinski Residences & Suites, Doha.
