Inspirations Behind the New Uniform

In conjunction with the 14th birthday of Lady in Red, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel is also launching a new uniform for its brand ambassadors. Specially commissioned by esteemed Singaporean fashion luminary Esther Tay, the striking all-red ensemble draws inspirations from heritage, art and modernity, paying homage to Singapore’s rich cultural tapestry while reflecting Kempinski’s commitment to impeccable hospitality. Crafted from exquisite satin in the iconic Kempinski red, the design infuses tradition with contemporary hostess flair. An elegant Mandarin collar exudes grace and hospitality, paired with a belted waist tailcoat draped over an intricate red lace knee-length skirt to bring out the Peranakan identity.

18K Gold Vermeil Earrings By Aymée Jewelry

Made of dainty pearls and yellow gold–both symbolising prosperity in the Peranakan culture, the stud earrings are specially designed to complement the new Lady in Red uniform and, at the same time, serve as a tribute to the Lady in Red’s commitment to preserving the rich heritage and tradition of Singapore.

IN-HOUSE CELEBRATIONS

Throughout the week, a myriad of activities will be taking place in the hotel, providing in-house guests with enriching experiences during their stay.

Kempinski’s ‘Rhapsody in Red’ on Guzheng and Pipa

Two additional theme variations, one for the Middle East and one for Asia, are recorded to respect Kempinski’s belief in cultural diversity while keeping the same melody. The Asian version uses pipa and guzheng as the main melody instruments. Faizal, Singapore’s first Malay guzheng player, will be performing alongside Chin Yen Chien, who began his musical journey with the Pipa at the age of 10, at the Lobby Lounge on Friday, 26 January 2024, from 19:00pm. For in-house guests only.

A ‘Lady in Red’ Walking Tour

The Lady in Red, together with the hotel’s heritage curator, Jean, will be bringing guests on an immersive walking tour that showcases hidden gems, historic landmarks and cultural highlights that make the civic district of Singapore a truly remarkable destination. End the tour with a specially crafted ‘Lady in Red’ cocktail at The Bar at 15 Stamford. Saturday, 27 January 2024, 16:00pm to 17:30pm. For in-house guests only.
