Beirut, 10 March 10 2025 – Kempinski Summerland Hotel & Resort Beirut proudly announces the honourees of its 4th Annual Leading Women Award. The yearly accolade, celebrated on 7 March, continues its tradition of recognising five inspirational women who have made significant positive impacts in their respective fields across Lebanese society.

Launched in March 2022, the award was established to pay tribute to the remarkable achievements of women whose work and passion serve as a source of inspiration for all. This year’s celebration once again brought together the honourees, media and the Kempinski team to celebrate their outstanding contributions.

This year, the accolade goes to five exceptional ladies:

Mrs  May El Khalil, a visionary and philanthropist, is the founder and president [R2] of the Beirut Marathon Association. Her tireless work has transformed the Beirut Marathon into a world-renowned event and a symbol of unity and peace in Lebanon, inspiring thousands to run for a cause.

Dr Hiba Kawas, an internationally acclaimed composer, pianist and conductor, has enriched the global cultural landscape with her sublime musical compositions. Her work stands as a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries and highlight Lebanese talent on the world stage.

Mrs Joumana Dammous-Salame, the Founder of Hospitality Services, has been a driving force in the Lebanese and regional hospitality industry for over three decades. Through her leadership and flagship events like HORECA, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the sector and nurturing its growth.

Dr Roula Farah, a distinguished dermatologist and academic, is the president of the Lebanese Society of Dermatology. Her dedication to advancing medical knowledge and her commitment to patient care have made a profound impact on the field of dermatology in Lebanon and beyond.

Ms Leila Bsat, a celebrated author and educator, has championed children’s literacy and development through her work in publishing and education. Her stories and initiatives have inspired countless young minds, fostering a love of reading and learning across the country.
