A Day at the new Kempinski The Spa

Engelberg, 1 July 2021 - The new five-star-superior hotel offers a unique retreat for connoisseurs of wellbeing in an authentic and preserved mountain scenery. A serene and welcoming environment, the 880 square meter rooftop Spa now invites its guests as well as outside residents to indulge and enjoy a day at the Spa for a truly unique experience offering all the Spa highlights while overlooking the mountains, the Kempinski The Spa evokes the Alps. Stone, as smooth as a pebble or roughly carved, stands in contrast with graphic lines of wood. The inspiration from the mountain landscape is abstract, but always harmoniously combined with the incomparable panorama. An infinity pool with an incomparable panoramic view of the surrounding Swiss mountain landscape with spacious lounging areas.

“What makes our Kempinski The Spa unique is that we are situated on top of the hotel on the fifth floor. It is breathtaking to overlook the mountain scenery from the infinity pool. The luxurious furnishings, coupled with the natural down-to-earth materials, simply give our spa that certain flair that you are looking for. Pair this with a highly relaxing and renewing treatment of our cosmetic brand partners for a complete relaxing moment” describes Nina Schellschmidt, Spa Manager of the Kempinski The Spa.

The Spa also impresses with an inviting relaxation room with an open Himalayan salt-stone fireplace and an ice fountain, a Finnish sauna for relaxation and regeneration of muscles and mind, a bio sauna filled with aromatic scents to cleanse and stimulate the airways, and a soothing steam bath, ideal against muscle tension. The Spa is also equipped with a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment such as bikes, treadmills, cross trainers and multistations.

The Kempinski The Spa focuses on the forces of nature, either adapting to the outside environment or restoring clients inner balance. “Kempinski The Spa” uses the wisdom and the restorative effects of plants, flowers, and herbs in all treatments. The powerful effects of Swiss mountain nature, combined with modern science, ensure outstanding results. The Kempinski The Spa signature treatments can be added to the Day at the Spa offer to enhance the wellbeing experience. The latter include therapeutic facials to restorative massages using the best natural ingredients, almost all from the Swiss mountains, tailored to the guests needs.

Nina Schellschmidt likes to recommend the dry brush-massage-facial treatment and a hand paraffin mask (duration: 100 min). At the beginning of this soothing treatment, a gentle dry brush massage stimulates the skin, followed by an individually tailored massage. The treatment is then followed by a moisturizing hand paraffin mask. This wonderful treatment can also be complemented by an extra add on, such as the Dermalux skincare treatment. The revolutionary Dermalux LED light therapy uniquely delivers a treatment tailored to each skin condition. Clinically proven to stimulate skin regeneration, to clear blemishes and to accelerate cell renewal.

The Kempinski The Spa is a journey based on the elemental wisdom of nature, all treatments awaken and restore the natural balance of the body and are now available all year long to outside guests of the Kempinski Palace Engelberg for a suspended moment in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

About Kempinski Palace Engelberg – Titlis Swiss Alps

“Embrace Swissness” - On June 25, 2021, Kempinski Palace Engelberg was the first international five star-superior hotel to open in central Switzerland's largest winter and summer holiday destination. The successful Engelberg hotelier Eduard Cattani (1841 – 1908) had his brother, the architect Arnold Cattani (1846 – 1921), design and build the historic building, which was known far beyond the borders of Switzerland at the time. Together with the new six-storey hotel building, the listed hotel, which opened in 1904 as the “Grandhotel Winterhaus” now forms a consummate architectural unit. The 129 rooms and suites offer state-of-the-art facilities as well as a unique view of the breathtaking mountain landscape. Culinary variety is provided by the signature “Cattani restaurant” featuring also a large summer terrace, “The Palace Bar” with “Cigar Lounge” and the “Wintergarden” with regional and seasonal products. A unique 880 sq m rooftop spa with infinity pool and views over the mountain panorama, as well as a modern event area with nine conference rooms and the listed Kursaal* for up to 1,000 guests round off the diverse range of facilities. The hotel is conveniently and easily accessible all year round by car, train or in around 75 minutes by car via Zurich airport.
