To mark the 15th anniversary of the Lady in Red, the Hotel Kempinski Palace Engelberg has teamed up with the label Livia Naef. The designer from Lucerne, known for her sustainable, minimalist fashion, is designing a new outfit exclusively for the hotel's ambassadors - the Ladies in Red.
Since 2010, the Ladies in Red have epitomised the hospitality and unmistakable elegance of Kempinski Hotels around the world. Dressed entirely in red, they ensure an unmistakable concierge experience - from the first impression to check-out. To celebrate the anniversary, the Kempinski Palace Engelberg is launching a collaboration with designer Livia Naef, who is creating new, minimalist outfits for the Ladies in Red.
Sustainable designer fashion from Lucerne
The designer produces simple, timeless women's fashion from certified natural materials from Europe in her Lucerne studio - all biodegradable, some made from historic Swiss linen and silk or hand-dyed with vegetable dyes. Her designs are minimalist, combinable and long-lasting - each piece a statement for conscious consumption.
"The Lady in Red is a hostess with style, empathy and attitude. The new outfit reflects precisely these values," explains Andreas Magnus, General Manager of the Kempinski Palace Engelberg. "In Livia Naef, we have found a Swiss designer who not only thinks sustainability, but lives it - and that fits perfectly with our vision."
The launch of the new outfits will take place on 15 June as part of a summer vernissage at the hotel. Anyone who feels inspired can go straight on a shopping spree. A limited edition of the ‘Voyage’ dress designed exclusively for the Ladies in Red in selected colour variations can be purchased at the hotel. Livia Naef's iconic design will not only be a visible part of the hotel's appearance - but also a stylish souvenir with lasting sentimental value.
The Lady in Red summer at the Kempinski Palace Engelberg
From 15 June to 15 July, the Kempinski Palace Engelberg will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Lady in Red. Guests can look forward to a comprehensive anniversary programme that stylishly combines culinary delights, music and design. The specially designed Lady in Red Suite offers an all-round red living experience with loving details and special amenities. In the Palace Bar, guests can discover exclusive dessert creations based on the favourite specialities of the Engelberg Ladies in Red - including the elegant ‘Red Inspiration’ cake. The Palace Bar will also be serving a specially developed anniversary cocktail during this time, which will tantalise the senses with red berries, organic vodka and champagne. The anniversary month will be accompanied musically by the Concertini - small, exquisite live concerts with young artists that take place in the Palace Bar and create a special atmosphere.

About Kempinski Palace Engelberg
Raw luxury - the new Kempinski Palace Engelberg is located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, not far from Lucerne (www.kempinski.com/engelberg). After five full years of construction, the palatial building high up in the mountains was re-opened in June 2021 and re-interpreted for the next generation as a unique hotel reminiscent of the Belle Epoque era. In harmony with nature, history and the modern era, the building is something truly special in its environment. As the first and only international five-star superior hotel in the largest winter and summer holiday destination of Central Switzerland, Kempinski Palace Engelberg is a retreat for all seasons. The historical building was famous far beyond the borders of Switzerland as far back as more than one hundred years ago when successful Engelberg hotelier, Eduard Cattani (1841 – 1908), commissioned his brother, architect Arnold Cattani (1846 – 1921), to design and realise the hotel. In 1904, it opened under the name of Grandhotel Winterhaus thereby setting the cornerstone for today’s building. After extensive renovations and combined with the new five story hotel, it now forms one perfect architectural unit. The 129 rooms and suites feature state-of-the-art facilities and offer a unique view of the breathtaking mountain landscape. Culinary variety is provided by the Cattani Restaurant which offers a brasserie concept, The Palace Bar with its Habanos Cigar Lounge, the Wintergarden, and, in the winter, the cosy Chalet Ruinart. An unparalleled, round 880 sqm rooftop spa with an infinity pool and a panoramic view of the mountains, a Kids Club and a modern events area with nine rooms as well as an entertainment area, the listed Kursaal*, for up to 1000 guests round off the varied offering. The hotel is easily reached year-round by car, train or via a 75-minute drive from Zurich Airport.
