Kempinski Hotels China Launches the Black Forest Cake Voyage: A Celebration of Culinary Excellence and Regional Creativity

Beijing, 20 May – This summer, Kempinski Hotels in Greater China proudly present the Black Forest Cake Voyage, a unique gastronomic journey celebrating regional creativity, local culture, and the timeless elegance that defines European luxury. From 20 May to 11 July, 15 Kempinski hotels across China will showcase their distinct interpretations of the iconic Black Forest cake, blending classic recipes with innovative local twists. As Europe’s oldest luxury hotel brand dating back to 1897, the legacy of Kempinski Hotels is as an arbiter of excellent taste.

This journey across Greater China traverses 14 cities, highlighting the Maotai-infused delicacies of Guiyang and the distinctive combinations of Sichuan pepper and cherries in Chengdu. Along the way, the delicate aromas of osmanthus, Yu Hua green tea, and yellow wine from Eastern China each tell a unique local story, showcasing the rich tapestry of regional flavors and traditions. Each stop invites you to experience the vibrant culinary heritage that defines this remarkable region.

In order to ensure that every guest can partake in this sweet voyage, Kempinski Hotels selected three local cake recipes from a collection of 19, curated to represent the diverse culinary heritage of China. These cakes will be available in 15 Kempinski Hotels across China, allowing guests to embark on a flavor journey from one destination to another.

In addition to the locally inspired cakes, guests also can indulge in four signature variations:
