Xixi National Wetland Park, less than 5 km from West Lake in the west part of Hangzhou, is the first and only national wetland park in China and a rare wetland city area. The park is densely crisscrossed with six main watercourses, among which scatter various ponds, lakes and swamps. Xixi Wetland has a history of more than 1,800 years and abundant cultural heritage. It’s the original site of the Chinese South Opera; it has a traditional Dragon Boat Contest; and it contains the vivid life of a water village, featuring silkworm feeding and silk production.
Xixi National Wetland Park is open 8:00 - 18:30 during April 1 - October 31; and from 8:15 - 18:00 during November 1 - March 31.
