Pirin National Park (UNESCO)
Pirin National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site within close proximity to Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko. The national park was established in 1962 and received UNESCO World Heritage status in 1983. Pirin National Park covers around 40,000 ha and gives tourists an amazing opportunity to discover Bulgaria’s natural beauty.
Baykushev’s Pine

Edelweiss
The Edelweiss is a legendary symbol of the mountains, a rare and beautiful flower protected by law. In Pirin, it can be found clinging to the rugged cliffs near Vihren Peak. Spotting this "star of the Alps" in its natural habitat is a highlight for any hiker.
Glacial Lakes
Pirin is famous for its crystal-clear glacial lakes, with more than 180 scattered throughout the park. The deepest and largest by surface area is Popovo Lake, nestled among high peaks. The Banderishki Lakes (including Fish Lake, Long Lake, and The Eye) are easily accessible and stunningly beautiful. Other notable groups include the Vasilashki Lakes, Tipitski Lakes, and Vlahini Lakes, each offering breathtaking views and water colors ranging from turquoise to deep sapphire.
