April, 2023 – In an important milestone, Kempinski Hotel Aqaba Red Sea has achieved Bronze Benchmark status through EarthCheck, the world’s leading business advisory group specialising in sustainability and destination management for the travel and tourism industry.

The achievement of the Bronze Benchmarked certificate from EarthCheck demonstrates our commitment to preserving our beautiful city of Aqaba and to protecting our planet Earth. Our ongoing programs are designed to support the environment, people, and community, and we strive to enhance our reach to have a greater impact on the three pillars we are dedicated to preserving and maintaining. According to Mr. Victor Betro General Manager of the hotel, this achievement reflects our dedication to sustainable practices and responsible tourism.
To avoid catastrophic climate change, the world needs to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees centigrade above pre-industrial levels. Today, we are already at 1.1 °C and feeling the effects, meaning that the window for achieving our target and avoiding the most catastrophic impacts of climate change is rapidly closing.
