Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga Champions Young Checkers Enthusiast Maksims Novickis on His Inspirational Journey

23 April 2024 – On 22 April, Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga graciously welcomed ten-year-old checkers enthusiast Maksims Novickis, as he engaged in a lively game in the lobby lounge alongside children's TV show personality Tutas Lietas. Inspired by a meeting with Latvian President Edgars Rinkevičš, where he was urged to "dream big," Maksims embarked on a journey to pursue his passion for checkers and began inviting Latvian celebrities to friendly duels. President Rinkevičš became the first to accept Maksims' invitation, sparking a series of matches that honed his skills both locally and internationally.

As Maksims' checkers' journey unfolds, Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga proudly stands beside him, recognizing the importance of nurturing and empowering young talents. Prioritizing the well-being and enjoyment of young guests and their families, the hotel ensures a warm welcome with tailored amenities and services, including special kids' menus, welcome treats, and engaging excursions led by the signature Lady in Red. Join us in celebrating Maksims' achievements and fostering a culture of support for aspiring talents at Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga.

Join us in celebrating Maksims' incredible journey and the spirit of encouragement and empowerment that defines the ethos of Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga.
