Documents Required for Entry into Latvia
Countries and territories whose citizen passport holders do not require a visa to enter Latvia can stay in its territory for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Citizens from other countries must apply for a visa at the Latvian Embassy, Consulate, or Consulate-General if there is one in the state where foreign nationals legally reside.
All travelers must possess a valid travel document upon entering the country.
Starting from 1 January 2023 tourism tax has been introduced in Riga - tourists visiting the capital of Latvia are charged a fee of EUR 1 per visitor per night. This amount is added to the final hotel bill and will be settled at the end of the stay. For the long-term staying guests, tourism tax is applied only for the first 10 nights.
