Štrbské Pleso, 6 March 2024 – According to both travellers and tourism professionals who voted in the World Travel Awards (WTA) and World MICE Awards, the Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras not only stands out as the best hotel in Slovakia but also as the most suitable venue for conferences, congresses and various other business events.

Situated on the shores of Štrbské Pleso and belonging to the Best Hotel Properties, a.s. (BHP) group, the luxury hotel achieved victory in three categories at the gala dinner in Berlin, Germany–Slovakia’s Leading Hotel 2024, Slovakia’s Leading Hotel Suite 2024 and Slovakia’s Best MICE Hotel 2023.

‘We are delighted to receive the highest mark of excellence for our Presidential Suite, truly our jewel’, says Kathrin Noll, General Manager of the Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras. The suite, covering 186 square metres, boasts two living rooms, a kitchenette and a special entrance directly from the lift.

The Presidential Suite is adorned with original furniture and has its own fireplace. Murano chandeliers grace the ceilings and custom-painted artwork enhances the overall atmosphere. Several famous personalities, including legends of the Slovak and Czech music and sports scene, Hollywood actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, singer Bryan Adams, writer Jo Nesbo and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, have graced this most prestigious apartment in the High Tatras.

The iconic hotel also received the highest accolade in the realm of congress organisation, international meetings and conferences. ‘We are very pleased to receive this prestigious award at the World MICE Awards. We consistently strive to prepare the events we organise at our hotel, whether they are meetings of statesmen or conferences and congresses, to the highest possible standard,’ adds Kathrin Noll.

The Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras boasts impressive conference facilities under its roof. The Gerlach and Kriváň ballrooms can be used by guests or companies for various events such as conferences, congresses, private parties or weddings. Both ballrooms combine historical elegance with modern equipment and services and offer participants unrivalled views of the Tatra countryside. For more intimate meetings, guests can utilise the distinguished Presidential Suite. The hotel annually hosts a major event, the Tatra Summit, which brings together approximately 200 guests, including European leaders, representatives of the European Commission and governors of national banks of the European Union member states.

Established in 1993, the label is globally recognised as the highest mark of excellence in the industry. The World MICE Awards aims to improve standards in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) segment by recognising industry leaders. The MICE Awards are a sister event to the World Travel Awards.
