Štrbské Pleso, 16 December, 2022 – According to the World Culinary Awards, the best hotel restaurant in Slovakia is Grand Restaurant in Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras. The award has rewarded excellence in the gastronomy industry since 2020. The votes of experts and the public decide on the best hotel restaurants around the world. This year, the award again pleased the restaurant team in the hotel on the shore of the Štrbské Pleso Lake.

"Every team member is important in our restaurant. We all pay attention to the freshness of the ingredients and choose only the best quality products from proven local suppliers. In addition, we try to use every single part of the raw material we have in the kitchen because we follow the trend of zero waste," explains the head chef of the Grand Restaurant's operation, Miroslav Zamiška. The World Culinary Awards is also a reward for him because at the restaurant "we like to play with all aspects of food, which for us is a game of colours and flavours."

General Manager Kathrin Noll also appreciates The best hotel restaurant in Slovakia award. She perceives it as a responsibility and a motivation for further work. "We are very grateful for the award of the culinary art of chef Miroslav Zamiška and his entire team. This year, three talented chefs who studied with us during professional practice strengthened it this year. They have created original and delightful delicacies together," adds Kathrin Noll.

In the third year of this prestigious culinary award, professionals from the gastronomy industry, media, and restaurant visitors cast their votes. It is a global initiative to promote the highest quality in the culinary world. The programme recognises a wide range of companies. Voting is possible in Best Restaurant, Best Culinary Destination, Best New Restaurant or Best Hotel Restaurant categories.

Both experts and the general public could vote for their favourite culinary brands from 7 June to 31 August this year, and the winners were announced at the World Culinary Awards Gala Ceremony 2022 in Dubai on 17 December.
