Picture this: the crisp alpine air of St. Moritz in the summer of 2008, where a single concert in a humble wine cellar sparked something extraordinary. Othella Dallas took to the stage in what was thought to be her swan song, but instead, it became the birth of the Festival da Jazz - a celebration that has since blossomed into a global beacon for jazz lovers. Fast forward to 2025, and this beloved festival returns from 3 - 27  July 2025, transforming the picturesque Swiss town into a haven of rhythm and soul, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Alps.

A Journey Through Sound and Scenery

The Festival da Jazz isn’t just an event it’s an experience that weaves music, nature, and intimacy into a tapestry of unforgettable moments. From the cosy confines of the Dracula Club, where just 150 lucky souls can squeeze in to hear world-class artists up close, to the serene shores of Lake Staz, where a sunrise concert at 7:07 am bathes 1,500 attendees in golden light and soulful melodies, every venue tells its own story. Add to that the elegant art nouveau hall of the Reine Victoria and the woodland charm of Taiswald Pontresina, and you’ve got a festival that’s as diverse as the jazz it celebrates.

Gregory Porter

Headlining the festival are some of the most revered names in contemporary music. The velvet-smooth baritone of Grammy-winner Gregory Porter will once again grace St. Moritz, promising soulful and captivating performances. Joining him in the illustrious line-up is the incomparable Dianne Reeves, a true jazz virtuoso whose powerful vocals and improvisational prowess are not to be missed.

Ludovico Einaudi

In a departure from traditional jazz, the festival is thrilled to welcome the world-renowned composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi. His emotive and mesmerising compositions are set to create an unforgettable atmosphere in the stunning setting of St. Moritz. Also adding a touch of mainstream appeal is the celebrated singer-songwriter Katie Melua, known for her enchanting voice and blend of pop and jazz influences.

ZAZ

The international flair of the festival is further underscored by the appearance of French superstar ZAZ, whose energetic and charismatic performances are sure to be a highlight. For those with a passion for instrumental mastery, the maverick violinist Nigel Kennedy will bring his unique and dynamic approach to the stage.

The programme is also packed with a host of other exceptional artists, including the formidable collaboration of Kurt Elling & the Yellowjackets, and the infectious rhythms of the Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay.
