Corviglia/Piz Nair - The mountain on St. Moritz and Celerina’s doorstep is easily reached by the Chantarella funicular from St. Moritz Dorf, the Signal cable car from St. Moritz Bad, the six-person gondola from Celerina or the chairlift from Suvretta. Mountain bikers can carry their bikes up on any of the first three lifts mentioned for just CHF 3 per sector to access a biking paradise. As well as a multitude of mountain bike trails of all levels of difficulty, the area boasts numerous contrasting walks and some cosy mountain restaurants. A special attraction is a ride down to the valley on large-wheeled scooters.
Diavolezza - The Diavolezza offers an unrivalled experience of the high Alps, with thrilling views of the spectacular Bernina massif. The glaciers, in all their other-worldly beauty, seem close enough to touch. Impressive glacier walks, as well as thrilling hikes among the vertiginous peaks, are all on offer in this area.
Corvatsch / Furtschellas - From Surlej you quickly reach the 3303-metre summit and glorious views of imposing glaciers and deep-blue lakes. The Corvatsch/Furtschellas area is a wonderful playground for walkers: highlights include the impressive hike over the Fuorcla Surlej and down into the Val Roseg, the magnificent trail from the Furtschellas top station into the sleepy Val Fex, and the thrilling hike along the “Wasserweg” (water trail) past six idyllic mountain lakes – which can also be enjoyed as an audio tour via iPod. Stop for a picnic en route, or enjoy a meal at one of the mountain restaurants.
Muottas Muragl - A nostalgia-inducing funicular – the oldest mountain ride in the Engadin – leads up to the top station, and unforgettable views of the magnificent, seemingly endless Engadin valley with its string of shimmering, dark-blue lakes. This is the spectacular backdrop for a wide range of impressive hikes leading over the high-mountain terrain.
