Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is committed to achieving best-practice environmental and social sustainability and has partnered with EarthCheck, the world's leading Benchmarking and Certification provider.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is a 157-room luxury resort hotel in the most popular mountain resort of Bulgaria, Bansko, situated on the border to Pirin National Park.
The hotel includes 157 rooms and suites, conference facilities, three restaurants, four bars, and a
Kempinski The Spa with three swimming pools and a fitness center.

The surrounding Pirin Mountains are world heritage listed and are of great significance to the local
people and Bulgaria's tourism.

At Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, we recognise the activities of our Hotel have the potential for negative impacts on the environment and community if not properly managed. As such we have implemented a Green Team committee and a benchmarking tool that meets the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is committed to continuous improvement measured by way of annual Benchmarking Assessments. The team at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko strives towards minimising our footprint on the environment by implementing sustainable initiatives aimed at improving the hotel's performance, reducing the use of Energy and Water, and the production of Waste.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko will comply with all relevant legislation and regulations and aims to achieve international best practice. We have appointed a Green Team with three chairmen (Ivan Hadzhiruskov - Financial Controller, Blagovest Kazakov – Chief Engineer, Kostadin Darakchiev – Purchasing Manager, Veselina Yakubova – HSK Manager, Kostadinka Vishanina – SPA Manager, Ivo Ichev – F&B Manager, Nikola Todorov – Executive Chef), who have responsibility for improving the hotel's sustainable performance.

We further commit to participating in all Kempinski corporate-driven sustainability measures, such as the Kempinski Tree, BE Health, Kempinski Clean the World as well as providing continued support to local environmental and social institutions.

Special consideration will be given to employing and empowering local employees, and wherever possible sustainable products and services will be sourced locally in accordance with Fair Trade principles.

We encourage staff to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to all key
stakeholders including guests, suppliers and contractors.
