Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville Sets a New Standard for Luxury in Central Africa

Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville Republic of the Congo - Exterior

Brazzaville, 30 April 2026 –  Inaugurated last December on the banks of the Congo River, Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville offers an international luxury experience unlike any other in the capital, swiftly establishing itself as a new reference point in Central Africa. Within just a few months, the property has found its place in the local landscape and pursues a clear ambition: to contribute actively to Brazzaville’s international reach and to support the revival of a destination that remains relatively unknown, at the crossroads of business tourism, lifestyle hospitality, gastronomy and ecotourism.

"Brazzaville is home to a rich history, a vibrant culture, and stands at the gateway to an exceptional natural environment. Our ambition is to be its most faithful interpreter, and to offer our guests an experience that is not merely the opportunity to stay in a grand hotel, but also to feel the beating heart of such a singular and endearing destination.” - Nicolas Pezout, General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville.

An address connecting Brazzaville to the world

Brazzaville is a singular capital: the birthplace of Congolese rumba; a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage site; the left bank of one of the world’s most powerful rivers; the gateway to the Congo Basin; and the planet’s second largest green lung. A city of intellectuals, diplomats and musicians, Brazzaville has long held a special place in the cultural and political history of Central Africa. Today, Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville gives it an address capable of embodying that influence on an international scale.

Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville offers 197 rooms and suites, several with private balconies overlooking the Congo River. Located on the riverfront facing Kinshasa, the property was conceived as a place in constant dialogue with the city and its landscape. Its architecture and interior design draw inspiration from local wood essence, natural textures and Congolese nature, to compose an elegant setting deeply rooted in its environment.

A new culinary scene for the capital

With five restaurants and bars, each with a distinct identity, Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville introduces the most comprehensive culinary offering in the Congolese capital.  Designed for both international travellers and the people of Brazzaville, Chef Michael Berthelot leads all five restaurants. Under his direction, the various dining spaces and venues make the hotel a true gastronomic and social destination.

“Mosaic” is a gathering place built around generous and varied buffets, regularly enriched with themed offerings. “La Capitale” celebrates European-inspired cuisine in an elegant setting while “Le Café de Paris”, a gourmet bar conceived as a meeting place at any hour of the day, transforms in the evenings into a lively, relaxed and convivial space. The menus highlight local ingredients, contemporary techniques and an open approach to international influences.

This dynamic extends through the musical and animated evenings recently launched by the hotel, as well as through themed events conceived as fully immersive experiences. The hotel continues this momentum in April with the opening of “12 Waypoint”, the city’s first rooftop lounge bar, overlooking the Congo River and incorporating a cigar lounge – a first for Brazzaville.

An unprecedented wellness and leisure ecosystem in Brazzaville

Beyond accommodation, the hotel has been designed as a complete living environment. The property takes a holistic approach to wellness and leisure, combining techniques inspired by local expertise with international luxury standards. It offers dedicated spaces for care and relaxation, an exceptional-sized pool, a full professional fitness centre with coaches, and a Kids’ Club. The offering is progressively enriched with new activities, including an aqua gym and guest swimming lessons. The hotel also affirms its positioning as a family destination through its Kids’ Club, which hosts dedicated activities during school holidays and personalized programmes. The property is already identified as a top address for themed children’s birthday parties, adding to a leisure offering that remains rare in the capital.

With more than 870 m² of dedicated event space, including a ballroom accommodating 600 guests, the hotel provides an elegant setting for international conferences, state events and private celebrations. Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville also offers seven modular meeting rooms, suited to diplomatic meetings and regional business events. In a capital where institutions, international organizations and African businesses converge, the hotel positions itself as a new forum for the continent’s major conversations.

Concierge service as a gateway to Congo

The hotel offers a concierge service conceived as a genuine link between the property and its host country. It opens the door to the vibrant heart of Brazzaville: the Poto-Poto painting school, the rumba clubs of the Bacongo district, pirogue trips along the Congo River, and the cultural addresses that animate the local arts scene.

Beyond the capital, the hotel also acts as a base for exploring the natural riches of the country. The Concierge team  can arrange bespoke ecotourism experiences in the national parks and protected natural reserves of the Congo Basin, one of the world’s most precious biodiversity zones.

By offering an exceptional range of services and positioning itself at the crossroads of hospitality, culture, gastronomy and ecotourism, Kempinski Hotel Brazzaville is already playing an active role in the attractiveness of the destination and affirms its status as a privileged gateway to Congo.
