Dubai is an incredible destination for theme park lovers, and home to some of the largest, fastest and most unusual rides in the world. Just over 30 minutes from Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates sits Dubai Parks and Resorts, a collection of four fantastic theme parks, all connected by Riverland Dubai - a free-access retail and dining destination that is a great day out in its own right.
With the characters of DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate all in one place, visitors will feel like they are in a Hollywood blockbuster when visiting Motiongate Dubai.
Spread across five zones, families can enjoy rides based on movies such as Ghostbusters, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Madagascar, How to Train a Dragon, Shrek and more. Rides vary in intensity, meaning there is something for all ages, and young children in particular will love Smurf's Village - a magical world with play zones and a village show.
Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park
Designed for families with children aged 2 to 12, both Legoland and Legoland Water Park promise endless fun. At Legoland Dubai, kids can visit the Lego factory to discover how the bricks are made, drive around Lego city in their own cars, planes or boats and conquer a dragon on a rollercoaster around the King's castle. There are lots of rides for kids to enjoy, and Legoland Dubai is sure to capture their imagination.
Over 20 waterslides await at Legoland Water Park. Families can cool off in the water and build their own rafts for the lazy river, or race each other to the bottom of the slide on the Twin Chasers. Toddlers will love the Duplo Splash Safari too – the smaller slides mean they can still have plenty of fun.
The first of its kind on earth, Bollywood Parks is an enchanting theme park inspired by the greatest blockbusters from Bollywood. The park is split into five zones: Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios.
Whether you would like to watch a musical, experience India's landmarks in 4D or fight villains from Sholay on a 3D interactive ride, this park can offer it all. Whatever you choose to experience, make sure you also admire the amazing craftsmanship that has gone into each zone too.
Various tickets can be purchased for Dubai Parks and Resorts. If you would like access to every park, you can purchase a two-day ticket. Alternatively, you can buy an annual pass or a one-day ticket for various parks - more details can be found on the Dubai Parks and Resorts website.
Opening hours for each park varies, depending on the season. Typically, each one opens for longer during the winter season, which runs from mid-September to the end of April. You can view this year's opening hours here.
