At 1897 Lounge
Some of the world’s most beautiful creations begin with seeing things differently.
Inspired by the joyful imaginations of artists Paveelada ‘Beam’ Anrungruangpan and Weerachot ‘Karn’ Kasonboa, Dreams in Colour Afternoon Tea brings together artistry and pâtisserie in a delightful seasonal experience at 1897 Lounge.
Created by Executive Pastry Chef Franck Istel and his team, the afternoon tea experience reimagines the artists’ colourful illustrations through elegant pastries and savoury creations, where vibrant colours, delicate textures and refined flavours come together in perfect harmony. Every element is thoughtfully crafted to reflect the spirit of creativity, transforming artistic expression into an afternoon tea that is as visually captivating as it is memorable.
The experience begins with an assortment of savoury delights, from Beetroot-cured Salmon with Edible Flowers to Crab Cone with Lemon Caviar, before continuing with freshly baked classic and apricot-roasted macadamia scones served alongside raspberry jam, passion fruit curd and Devonshire clotted cream. The journey concludes with an exquisite selection of handcrafted pastries inspired by the artists’ vibrant palette, including Butterfly Pea Flower with Blueberry Compote, Caramel Entremet with White Peach Marmalade, Dragon Fruit shaped like one of Beam’s iconic characters, Hibiscus Raspberry with Vanilla Cream and Lemon Yoghurt Mousse with Pistachio Diamond Cookie, accompanied by a choice of premium tea or coffee.
Presented with live harp performances from Tuesday to Sunday, the afternoon tea offers a tranquil setting where art, flavour and music come together in perfect balance.
Beyond the table, the collaboration continues through ART Promenade, a special edition of the hotel’s rotating art exhibition showcasing 16 original artworks by artists Paveelada ‘Beam’ Anrungruangpan and Weerachot ‘Karn’ Kasonboa, alongside works by three additional artists from Artstory By Autistic Thai.
Together, the afternoon tea and exhibition form part of Growing Kind Hearts, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok’s five-year CSR initiative. Under this year’s theme, See the World Differently, the programme celebrates empathy, creativity and inclusion while creating meaningful opportunities for autistic artists through the universal language of hospitality.
More than an afternoon tea, Dreams in Colour reflects a shared belief that hospitality can inspire positive change – bringing together exceptional craftsmanship, artistic expression and community to create experiences that leave a lasting impression.
