For the 8th consecutive year, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Mall of the Emirates join forces to raise funds for Dubai Center for Special Needs

Dubai, December 2013 – Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, in partnership with Mall of the Emirates, raised an impressive AED 87,990 for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs selling a record 600m of stollen in less than 12 hours.

The 8th Annual Stollen Charity Cake Sale, which took place on Saturday December 7th at Mall of the Emirates brought the community together more than 70 volunteers from Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Mall of the Emirates joined hands to add sparkle and cheer to the start of festive season.

“It was with smiles on our faces, that we once again proudly reached our goal and raised an impressive amount of money for our friends at the Dubai Centre for Special Needs,” said Konstantin Zeuke, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. “At Kempinski, we believe in giving back to our community, which is why our colleagues and families volunteered at the event. We had fun and reached out to those in need. I am extremely proud of our achievement and I am looking forward to next year’s event.”

Throughout the day, UAE residents attended the annual event to sample delicious cake and show their support for charity. With all 600m of stollen successfully sold, proceeds from the day will be donated to the Dubai Centre for Special Needs to help provide special needs children with a brighter future.  

Much love went into this project. It took 14 volunteer chefs four weeks to bake the 600-metre traditional German stollen fruitcake.

“The 8th Annual Stollen Charity activity was a great success, and we thank everyone who came out to support this worthy cause,” said Anna Mansour, Associate Director, Mall of the Emirates. “Giving back to the community is an important objective for Mall of the Emirates, and through the partnership with Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates we were able to once again provide much-needed funds to the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.”

The event is becoming increasingly popular and this year, partners Toy Store, IT’Sugar and Magic Planet provided give-aways for the students of Dubai Centre for Special Needs. In addition, Santa Claus paid guests a surprise visit and other entertainment included a balloon sculptor and a choir from the Elementary Music Ensemble at the American School in Dubai.
