Showcasing Arabian culture at its finest, Emirates Palace will unveil the hidden jazz talent of Abu Dhabi, with a glamorous series of ‘toe-tapping’ jazz performances on the evening of June 15, 2012.
Presenting an evening with local legends “Cool’s the Rule”, talented jazz musician Titus Earle and his bandmates will raise the roof of Emirates Palace’s world-class auditorium. Guests will be invited to sit back and enjoy the masterful tinkle of Titus on piano, the low tones of Dennis Mercado on bass and the rhythmic beat of Douglas Caskie on percussion.
During the show, the “Cool’s the Rule” resident trio will be joined by guests and fellow musicians, including Bill Martin and Abdul Rahman, for an exclusive repertoire of jazz performances - from duo to full quintet, with saxophone, guitar and vocal highlights.
“Cool’s the Rule” was formed in 1999 as a classic jazz quartet line-up consisting of piano, bass, drums and sax, and has since expanded to form a “cooperative” of musicians. The group has performed to enthusiastic acclaim at many high profile events across the UAE, including the Abu Dhabi and Dubai Jazz Festivals and the Dubai World Cup.
Situated on 1.3km of pristine white shores, Emirates Palace is the ideal location for such stellar performances, alongside large corporate delegations and summer holiday getaways. With an array of unrivalled facilities, 100 hectares of lush landscaped gardens, the finest international cuisine, and an impressive 394 magnificent rooms and suites, Emirates Palace has become a global icon for luxury, style and sophistication.
Mr Bugra Berberoglu, Emirates Palace General Manager comments: “Emirates Palace is delighted to announce the first ever “Jazz at the Palace”. Dedicated to showcasing the very best of Arabian culture, we are honoured to host such talented local musicians within our famous auditorium.”
