Kai Schukowski appointed new General Manager at Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square
Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square, the leading luxury hotel in Lithuania, welcomes its new general manager, Mr Kai Schukowski
The German hotelier graduated from the Emirates Academy of Hospitality in Dubai in 2009 and took the corporate operations performance analyst position at Kempinski’s head office in Geneva, reporting directly to the company’s COO. Two years in this position led him to become the regional operations manager in charge of all Kempinski hotels in China and development planning of the first Chinese luxury brand NUO by Kempinski.
In the summer of 2013, at the age of 26, Kai Schukowski was appointed as Hotel Manager and shortly after as acting General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Ajman, the luxury resort in the UAE. His talent and successful leadership were awarded with the Hotel Manager/EAM of the Year award at the Middle East Awards in October 2015 and a promotion to the general manager position in January 2016. Kai Schukowski, 30, is the youngest general manager in the history of the Kempinski brand.
Commenting on his new appointment, Schukowski said, “Following my last postings with Kempinski in China and most recently as General Manager in the Middle East, I am delighted to return to Europe, where the company has its roots. Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square, in the heart of the capital, is a true jewel and leading property in the Baltics. The hotel has been consistently ranked as one of the best in terms of guest satisfaction worldwide, which is why it is the first choice amongst our famous and influential clientele, and I look forward to continuing this success whilst bringing a fresh approach and creative twist to this timeless, luxurious property.”
