San Clemente Palace starting the new season
Venice, 15 March 2018 - After a winter break, San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice reopens its doors and is ready to give a warm welcome to its new guests in the five-star luxury resort located on an exclusive private island in the heart of the Venetian lagoon.
To welcome them is Silvio Iacovino, the new general manager, having "landed" on the island of San Clemente at the end of season 2017, proud and full of new ideas that will cheer the stay of its guests and the Venetians who want to try the new exclusive culinary proposals.
“I am proud of being the leader of a strong and solid team,” says Iacovino “that will allow this jewel of Venice to offer its guests an unforgettable stay. For me the cohesion and collaboration of my team is the most important thing and together we can ensure quality and fun”.
What is absolutely new for this season is the opening of a Venetian "bacaro" located inside the Hotel Park, with a spectacular view over the St-Mark area. Starting from 6:00pm guests can try the typical Venetian aperitif, enjoying delicious tastings with local cold cuts and cheeses, "cicchetti" and "focacce", as well as exquisite sweets and salty surprises served during the evening. Theme nights will be organised, with live music and entertainment, to offer our guests joyful moments and pleasures for the palate that will allow them to live an authentic Venetian experience.
Thanks to the arrival of the new executive chef, Giorgio Schifferegger, the Acquerello Gourmet restaurant, and the entire culinary offer of the resort, including the sumptuous Kempinski breakfast, will be enriched with products and ingredients of the highest quality delivered from local producers. Through his creativity and passion, in a spectacular location like the Acquerello, the chef will reproduce in his dishes the colours and emotions of the sunset, the lagoon, the mountains, the fishermen, the palaces and the bell towers of Venice. Our guests can enjoy a complete sensory experience, combining the magic of the colours of food and wine with those of sunset and night, with spectacular views over the most romantic city in the world.
Changes and innovation can also be found at the informal La Dolce restaurant, immersed in the relaxed atmosphere between the hotel park and the marvellous swimming pool. The Mediterranean cuisine revisited by the chef will be proposed for lunch and dinner, and guests will be surprised by the authenticity of the experiences such as the live barbecue, where meat and fish dishes will be grilled on sight.
“I am very happy to be back in Venice,” says the chef “and honoured to be part of the San Clemente team. My culinary offer will surprise our guests through the Venetian tradition linked to my origins and the gourmet touches learnt from my experience. Our ingredients are selected exclusively from local producers and for example most of our vegetables are farmed in one of the neighbouring island of the Venetian lagoon”.
In addition, evening events and live entertainment will make San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice the "place to be" during the Venetian summer.
For the wellness and body care of our guests, the resort offers various activities and services, from the spa with sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms and fine beauty treatments, to the large fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment. With 7 hectares of centuries-old park, our guests can take full advantage of jogging paths to regenerate body and mind, organise a yoga class, cool off in the wonderful outdoor pool, one of the few in Venice, and play on the golf course or tennis court.
San Clemente Palace Kempinski is a magical land, an oasis of peace just a few minutes from the heart of Venice.
San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice, a proud member of the Leading Hotels of the World, is an exclusive retreat of peace, tranquillity and privacy, only ten minutes away from St. Mark’s Square by private boat. Set among a centuries-old park, the hotel has 190 rooms and suites that provide a stunning view of Venice and the lagoon, the lush gardens or the historical inner courtyards. Three restaurants and three bars cater for all culinary desires.
