Kempinski Hotel Suzhou successfully held the Impromptus charity concert “Vienna from Mozart to Strauss” on 25 March 2016 in the State Ballroom to celebrate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 260th birthday. In collaboration with well-known international artists, the concert showed the glamour of Mozart and the true city-of-music Vienna to over 400 guests. All income from ticket sales will mostly be donated to the CHI HENG Foundation to help children affected by AIDS, and the rest goes to a scholarship fund to support talented local art students who otherwise may not be able to afford a musical education.

Kempinski Hotel Suzhou, CHI HENG Foundation and Steinway & Sons co-hosted this event and invited cellist Alexander Suleiman (Germany), pianist Misha Namirovsky (Russia), violinist Alexander Pyankovsky (Kazakhstan), violinist Shaginova Mariia (Russia), soprano Ji Yina (China), Suzhou Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and Dulwich Community Choir Suzhou.

As Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, Kempinski has a deep commitment to supporting and promoting the development of the arts and international artistic talent. Its belief that “arts and culture are a necessity, not a luxury” is a reflection of this ethos and highlights a long-standing belief that the world of art and music should be made widely accessible for all to enjoy. In this regard, Kempinski Hotel Suzhou is delighted to continue this new tradition by offering more opportunities to experience this wonderful performance.

Highly acclaimed pianist Misha Namirovsky (Russia) is a recent winner of the prestigious German Piano Award and Promusicis Prize and has performed at some of the world’s top venues, including Carnegie Hall (New York), Salle Cortot (Paris) and the Great Conservatory (Moscow). Moreover, extremely talented as both a soloist and chamber musician, Namirovsky has been dubbed a “Master of his Art” by “The Norderstedter Zeitung” (Hamburg, Germany).
