Kempinski Hotels in Slovakia regarded as most attractive employer in the industry

Bratislava, 6 February 2015 – For the second time, Kempinski Hotels have gained a position in the top ten companies in “The Most Attractive Employer of the Year” survey.

Kempinski Hotel River Park in Bratislava and Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras were ranked at seventh place in the survey, which is an improvement by one position compared to last year’s results.

“We are very proud that we improved our position in the most attractive employers’ ranking. We truly appreciate that we are the best employer in our industry. We also feel it is our commitment since we try hard to fulfil the expectations of our employees and create satisfying working conditions that support the professional development of our employees,” said Michal Bursík, HR director of Kempinski Hotels.

Currently, there are 150 employees working at Kempinski Hotel River Park in Bratislava and approximately 100 in Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras. The average age of the employees is 33-years-old. Both Kempinski hotels focus on supporting the young generation working in the hotel industry. “We try to teach our interns, pupils and students professional behaviour and they leave our hotels on a high professional level,” said Mr Bursík. However, we support and hire diverse age groups. The oldest employee in our hotel in Bratislava is a 65-year-old night cook. The oldest employee in Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras is a 62-year-old room attendant. Employees currently employed in our hotels stay at their position for an average of 2.3 years. The number of job applicants we receive shows a huge interest in working in this industry. “We have up to 70 applicants for some positions,” added Mr Bursík.

The Most Attractive Employer of the Year 2014 was organised by the online job portal profesia.sk in co-operation with Forbes magazine. This was its third year. The winner of the survey was the Google company. Second place was granted to the car producer Volkswagen Slovakia, and the Slovak company Eset was ranked as the third most attractive employer.
