The tradition to organise family charity events during the Christmas season has long been a part of the culture in European countries and Russia for centuries. To keep this tradition alive, Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 and its friends joined forces to hold a beautiful party for children and adults with a performance directed by Vasily Barkhatov and a charity auction held by famous Russian actress Ksenia Rappoport.
The total amount of donations, collected at “Sochelnik at Konushennaya” 2014, is almost two times higher than the results of the previous year. About RUB 2 million will be given to the B.E.L.A. Fund to support children suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa.
The success of the auction was achieved with help of the State Hermitage Museum, Maliy Drama Theatre, the Theatre Museum, Mikhailovsky Theatre, the Zenith Football Club and other partners of “Sochelnik at Konushennaya” that had offered unique lots for the auction.
All children and adults, guests of the charity event, were invited to see a unique theatre performance of the "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", a well-known Hoffmann fairytale. Vasily Barkhatov directed the performance, which featured Ksenia Rappoport, Eugene Igumnova, Polina Tolstun, Michael Tatarnikov and DmitryOzerkov and himself.
The Christmas fairytale, which is kept alive at Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 throughout December, brought real joy to the guests at the “Sochelnik at Konushennaya” event. Consequently, the RUB 2 million in donations that was raised at the charity event will help bring health and joy back into the lives of sick children and make their Christmas wishes and hopes come true.
