The typical Istrian autumnal triad
Savudrija, August 14, 2012 – The Istrian peninsula, awarded in 2011 and 2012 by Lonely Planet and National Geographic Traveler as one of the top must see places worldwide, is very often described as the Tuscany of Croatia. Its geographical position, in the proximity of major land and marine routes of Central Europe, its mild Mediterranean climate and the vicinity of the warm sea as well as the richness of its natural beauties are definitely an advantage.
In autumn Istria is not an appealing destination for gourmet lovers only. The local producers of fine cosmetics recognized the positive effects of grape and truffles and apply them successfully in the wellness industry. At the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic the pampering effects of those natural treasures can be experienced during unique Spa treatments, soothing for skin, body and soul.
What to say about precious black and white truffles? Used since ancient times in gastronomy, worshiped by the connoisseurs of good food, the truffles are today used in modern medicine because of their particularly positive effects in dealing with skin’s pigmentation problems. The Istrian Truffle Dream therapy starts with a gentle exfoliation with papaya lotion, grains of bamboo and green tea, followed by a body detox wrap. The facial peeling is performed by a biological exfoliating facial scrub based on oatmeal extract. After exfoliation, gentle rose oil is applied, followed by the application of a rich serum-based on white truffles. The 100-minute treatment ends with a body wrap and green tea based massage. This alluring package includes two nights in a luxurious double room with gourmet breakfast, free wireless access, access to the Carolea Spa and to the private beach and of course the mentioned truffle treatment, available from 215 € per person.
The grape has also established itself as a true all-rounder body treatments’ source of wellness. Already the old Romans and Greeks knew that wine therapy regenerates and stimulates the skin, slowing the aging process. Especially valuable are the components of the grape, once considered pure waste: in fact, seeds and nuts contain polyphenols, which protect the body from harmful free radicals. The treatment begins with a grape leaves scrub, followed by a body mask made of red clay, guarana and grapefruit essential oils and a cozy body wrap. After the facial and the wrapping, the body is massaged with a serum of algae and red wine leaves, followed by a massage with cream based on olive oil, vitamin E, shea butter and almond oil. This luxurious treatment is at the center of the Istrian Wine Therapy package, including also two nights in a luxurious room with free Internet access, daily gourmet breakfast, the soothing treatment at the spa and entrance to the private beach. The package is available, depending on the season, starting from 280 € per person.
Because of its mild climate, Istria is perfect for open-air all-year sports’ activities. Golf enthusiasts will be able to discover the pleasure of swinging the club on a charming 18-hole golf course, immersed in warm pastel colors of the pleasant and sunny Istrian autumn. In addition to the golf package, the hotel prepared an appealing combination of an ultimate golf experience and a relaxing Spa break. Both packages can be booked from September to November 3, 2012. The Golf package includes accommodation for two nights in one of our luxurious rooms, gourmet breakfast, entrance to the 3000 sq m Carolea Spa, complimentary parking, VIP amenities in the room upon arrival, one green fee per person, light 3-course lunch in the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant Dijana. The price per person for 2 overnights in a double room starts from 237 €, depending on the season.
The Golf & Spa Package includes accommodation for three nights in one of our luxurious rooms, gourmet breakfast, entrance to the 3000 sq m Carolea Spa, complimentary parking, two green fees per person, one 35 minutes back and head massage and one 45 minutes reflex foot massage. The price per person for 3 overnights in a double room starts from 344 €, depending on the season.
