The Top 5 Places to Celebrate New Year's Eve

From fireworks and champagne to all-night parties, bringing in the New Year is something that we do brilliantly across the globe. Over the years, traditions have evolved, but one thing remains constant - New Year's Eve is always a celebration that we look back on throughout the year!

More so than any other festivity on the calendar, New Year's Eve can be a glamorous affair - so why not step a little further afield for your future celebrations? Here, we have compiled the top five New Year's Eve destinations that you might not have considered…yet!

Dubai

If you are searching for extravagance, you will find it in abundance in Dubai. Known for record-breaking fireworks displays amid its iconic landscape, Dubai well and truly comes to life at midnight on December 31st. Along with fireworks, you can expect music on the steps by the Burj Khalifa, a gala on Burj Lake, celebratory dinner cruises, and celebrity-studded parties.

Berlin

The German capital has a reputation for hosting incredible parties, and New Year's Eve is no exception. The city's residents take to the streets, and you will find a huge street party taking place on Straße des 17. Juni - the two-kilometre stretch between the Brandenburg Gate and Victory Column. The event is ticketed, but plan ahead and you will be able to celebrate the New Year with some of Europe's most sought-after DJs and performers.

Bangkok

Food and fireworks are the priorities when it comes to celebrating in the Thai capital. The evening typically begins with a decadent meal full of delicious Thai treats, before a range of firework displays take place right across the city. Centre World Square is always packed with partygoers, but you will find that most hotels and restaurants will host their own events too.

The Seychelles

As you would expect from the beautiful Mahé Island, when it comes to New Year's Eve, head to the beach to enjoy the celebrations. Here you are able to enjoy a balmy evening and be in paradise when the New Year rolls in. Perfect!

Vienna

From fireworks over the Danube, to New Year's Path in the heart of the city, Vienna takes New Year's Eve seriously. Much like Berlin, Vienna partygoers hit the city streets for plenty of entertainment and fireworks displays, along with a tasty, warm punch and bites of street food. New Year's Day sees the big screens at the end of New Year's Path feature a morning performance from the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Day Concert - a truly lovely way to see in the New Year.
