The FloorTwo Restaurant, appreciated for its ambience and its breathtaking views of the city, is changing. It will now offer a new culinary journey, starting behind the Mont-Blanc Mountain and moored to Léman Lake. Welcome to the FloorTwo, Il Vero.
The menu now offers more than a Mediterranean spirit: Italia is on every table, with traditional dishes served just the way we like them. Whether one desires sea bass tartar, black ravioli, gambas risotto, sea bream or Marsala pork, all tastes will be satisfied. Ripatoni arrabbiata fusilli with tomatoes mozzarella antipasti are also part of this parade of flavours. A Cimballi machine holds a place of honour and offers the inimitable Amici coffee.
The brigade is managed by Chef Gilberto who started in 2016. It will be a new challenge for the Chef, who looks forward to preparing genuine Italian recipes. The concept of the restaurant focuses on returning to the roots of Italian cuisine and on the taste and quality of the final product.
When it comes to the welcome and service one receives in a restaurant, Giovanni Lanzetta is a master: moving from the Grill to FloorTwo, he has taken the new position because Italy has always been so important to him. His 30 years of experience have already convinced locals and guests of his talents.
A dynamic chef
Gilberto is above all passionate about Mediterranean cuisine. Italian, he was born in Milan and grew up in Vallée d'Aoste where his parents were known to produce the regional ham and other meats. Gilberto is very in touch with nature, his interest in herbs and vegetables and also the attachement he has for his roots, shows through his cooking. Chef Gilberto surprises you with exclusive Mediterranean produce, with a true Italian passion for the good stuff!
From the plates to the decorations …
The journey is not solely about cuisine; the terrace of the Restaurant has been totally redesigned as well. The tables are placed among grape vines and cypress and the landscape has been drawn by “le Fleuriste des Augustins”, specialists in the creation of an ambience through the use of trees and plants.
Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva also chose a renowned architect to handle the use of lighting and LED technology in Youri Agabekov, who has created an exclusive lighting set up for Il Vero. Clients will feel as if they are in Tuscany whilst enjoying the awesome view.
