Gelendzhik, Russia, 4 December 2013; On 29 November 2013, Kempinski Grand Hotel Gelendzhik received an award for “Best Five-Star Hotel” in Krasnodar region at Kurortniy Olymp (Resort Olympus). The ninth annual award ceremony celebrated tourism and hospitality excellence.
The award was handed over to Orlando Stefani, General Manager of Kempinski Grand Hotel Gelendzhik.“This award is a show of great appreciation for our work and is incentive for us to excel and refine our service,” said the General Manager. Mihail Kudelya, minister of resort and tourism industry in the Krasnodar region, personally greeted all the winners.
The cinema-themed ceremony was reminiscent of the Oscars Awards, featuring red carpets, beautiful gowns and music, as well as a lavish reception. Comedian team Uezndniy Gorod hosted the evening and entertained guests with resort-themed jokes.
Kurotniy Olymp Awards is a special ceremony for hospitality and tourism industry professionals in the Krasnodar region, including Sochi and Anapa. The administration of Krasnodar established the annual regional competition in 2005.
Over the years, the number of participants has significantly increased, as the reward has become more prestigious. Initially, organisers needed to encourage companies to participate in the competition, whereas nowadays, they aspire to be part of the Kurotniy Olymp Award.
Previously, Kempinski Grand Hotel Gelendzhik won a Kurotniy Olymp Award in 2011 for “Best Landscape Design.”
This year, there were 21 nominations in various categories including maids, administrators, tourism sights, beaches, small inns and five-star spa resorts. A panel of more than 10 industry experts evaluated the nominees.
