In 2014 Alfred Merkel from Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok became the winner of the competition. His dessert is called "Siam Passion", it delights with a combination of flavors of tropical fruits authentic to Thailand, such as coconut, mango, banana and passion fruit.
Author of Kempinski dessert of the year 2014 Alfred Merkel described: "The dessert represents what Kempinski brand stands for “A Collection of Individuals”. This dessert represents European by its traditional European recipe and cooking style but it tastes different as we use the local ingredients in Thailand where Siam Kempinski Hotel is located."
