Three Lanes and Seven Alleys

Three Lanes and Seven Alleys

You can find the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in downtown Fuzhou. It is short for ten ancient lanes and alleys distributed in the two sides of South Backstreet of Fuzhou City, the three of which westerly are called lanes and the seven easterly are called alleys. Covering an area of 38.35 hectares and originally built in late Western Jin Dynasty (265-316), it is a district of streets featuring a cluster of ancient residential buildings and is the largest well-preserved historical heritage site in China. Here you can read the history of the city by visiting the home of celebrities or taste the local food from the oldest types of cuisine.
