Cooking expertise – head chef of the Villa Rothschild Kempinski among the top 50 in Germany

Cooking expertise – head chef of the Villa Rothschild Kempinski among the top 50 in Germany

Königstein im Taunus, 16 October 2015. Head chef Christian Eckhardt and the Rothschild Team have been awarded four out of a possible five spoons from the Schlemmer Atlas restaurant guide. The guide also rates the head chef as being one of the best 50 chefs in Germany.

Kitchen performance, first-class basic ingredients, high levels of creativity, excellent wines and a special atmosphere: these are just some of the criteria judged by the testers in a guide that has been published annually since 1973. With the award of four spoons, Christian Eckhardt and his team of chefs have been able to celebrate yet another high-ranking accolade. A native of Germany’s Breisgau region and currently in his second year at the helm of the restaurant in the five-star-superior Villa Rothschild, the head chef is commended in the latest version of the Schlemmer Atlas for his “expressive variations based on classic French cuisine.”

“The Schlemmer Atlas rating is proof that the style created by Christian Eckhardt and the Rothschild Team together with Restaurant Manager Benjamin Birk is one that impresses diners in our restaurant,” stated Stefan Massa, General Manager of the Villa Rothschild Kempinski.
