DER FEINSCHMECKER awards 3.5 Fs to Restaurant Villa Rothschild in Königstein im Taunus
Königstein im Taunus, 15 September 2015. In the magazine’s 40th anniversary year, DER FEINSCHMECKER’s Restaurant Guide for 2015/2016 has awarded 3.5 Fs out of a possible 5 to the gourmet restaurant which is located on Frankfurt’s doorstep in the smallest Kempinski hotel in the world. In doing so, the fine-dining guide rates the restaurant among Germany’s top 500 and commends its excellent culinary and service offer together with its exceptional ambience and comfort. It is one of only six restaurants in the state of Hesse to receive more than 3 Fs.
The guide’s evaluation highlighted the ease and confidence of the Rothschild team and confirmed that the ‘May venison with a brown bread crust’ was “top class”. Together with their kitchen and service colleagues, two people in particular were responsible for the conclusions of the FEINSCHMECKER testers: Head Chef Christian Eckhardt (32) and Restaurant Manager and Sommelier Benjamin Birk (33). “We are delighted to receive such recognition. Offering diners lasting consistency in addition to quality, creativity and passion is particularly important for our young team of chefs and waiters. 3.5 Fs is proof of this,” was their response.
To encourage more diners to savour gourmet cuisine in the restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere, Christian Eckhardt and Benjamin Birk have come up with a novel idea. On Wednesdays and Thursdays the two flavour enthusiasts invite diners to their Gourmet Entrée evening in the Restaurant Villa Rothschild. Here, new gourmets can savour a four-course surprise menu composed of dishes from the current culinary offer, with or without alcoholic accompaniment and for a special price. “With this idea we wish to reach those interested in the topic of food and drink but who perceive the atmosphere in gourmet restaurants as being too formal and intense and therefore refrain from visiting. This is one rumour that we wish to dispel for good,” stated Restaurant Manager Benjamin Birk who is already looking forward to welcoming the new clientele.
