The big day finally arrived on 9th June 2015. After the exciting Wave of Taste tour in 2014 where three unusual locations in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Cologne were frequented (more info at www.waveoftaste.com), our hotels - the Falkenstein Grand Kempinski, the hotel & event location of the Villa Rothschild Kempinski and the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg - were able to present their joint catering expertise at a cooperative event in the Sansibar by Breuninger, Düsseldorf’s ‘in’ restaurant located in the Breuninger fashion store.
On the first floor of the Breuninger store, in the fashion hub of Düsseldorf close to world-famous Königsallee, Christian Eckhardt (Villa Rothschild Kempinski’s gourmet restaurant), Patrick Weber (Restaurant Atlantic, Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg) and Sansibar head chef Götz Rothacker presented their skills to over 100 guests. Whether at a table or next to the DJ at the bar, the event demonstrated attractive event catering compositions combined with a strong live character. Benjamin Birk, Restaurant Manager and Sommelier at the Villa Rothschild Kempinski and his GH catering team were also on hand working together with the Sansibar service team in a relaxed yet always charming and authentic manner.

It was in many ways a very special experience for the Kempinski sister hotels to undertake the catering with the Sansibar restaurant in Düsseldorf. On the one hand because it was the first, but certainly not the last, joint presentation of tastes and, on the other, because a great catering partner has been found in the form of Breuninger and the Sansibar by Breuninger, with whom much fun was had while being creative for the diners on that evening.
