Kempinski Hotel Chongqing's Anniversary Celebration

Kempinski Hotel Chongqing's Anniversary Celebration

4 December 2014, Chongqing, China – Kempinski Hotel Chongqing held its anniversary celebration on 3 December 2014 to thank its customers for their continuous support. This prestigious event was attended by more than 200 VIP guests and members of the media to celebrate with Kempinski on this unique occasion.

The evening, which was dedicated to appreciation, commenced with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the lobby, where our very own Christmas choir entertained guests. VIPs, together with the hotel staff, lit up the 8.5 m (27.9 ft) Christmas tree, while 100 copies of Christmas cards from the guests and staff were hung to express holiday wishes.

The evening ended with a gala dinner and charity auction with the Chi Heng Foundation. Culture. Beauty. Savoir-Vivre. Gourmet. These qualities define Kempinski's culture and remain as fundamental European values. For example, Kempinski’s Ladies in Red welcomed the VIPs while German flavours and authentic Bavarian elements were presented and trendy, homemade Christmas cupcakes were specifically created for all the VIPs, highlighting Kempinski’s innovative culinary concepts.

As part of the hotel’s anniversary celebration, a charity programme was launched in co-operation with Chi Heng Foundation, which was founded in 1998. Chi Heng Foundation is a charity registered and based in Hong Kong. The co-operation featured a painting exhibition by AIDS-affected orphans in a dedicated space in the lobby and at all the hotel’s restaurants. Two sections of the auction for the evening featured several art pieces by AIDS-affected orphans and AIDS-affected children and a number of prestigious gifts from the hotel and the Chi Heng Foundation were given to all guests. The proceeds from the auction, which amounted to RMB 41,100 (EUR 5,420) will be donated to Chi Heng Foundation to help all the people in need.

“We are holding this party in appreciation of all of you for giving us so much support since the hotel's opening,” said General Manager Mr Fritz Schenkel. "The Kempinski philosophy considers charity very important, and it is part of Kempinski Hotel's mission to give something back to our community. We would also like to thank Mr Chung To, founder of Chi Heng Foundation, for participating and supporting this evening. Without your support, it would not have been possible for us to launch this charity programme,” he added.
