Afternoon Tea at the Adlon now offering an additional course

Afternoon Tea at the Adlon now offering an additional course

Berlin, March 12, 2018 – This British classic has always been celebrated at Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin. Against a backdrop of soothing piano music, the tea masters serve an afternoon tea that is truly fit for a queen because the patisserie team have added even more tasty delights to the afternoon tea menu
which will be served as two courses.

Guests can savour the classic cucumber, ham and cheese sandwiches for the first course. This is followed by delightful sweet concoctions created by the hotel’s own pastry chefs: fruit tartlets, lemon tart and cream profiteroles are guaranteed to gratify the taste buds. The traditional English scones are served with strawberry jam and exquisite clotted cream. The second course is then served with salmon and roast beef sandwiches followed by the crowning glory of mini cherry cakes, tea-flavoured chocolates and edible pebbles made from dark chocolate mousse, salted caramel and pecan nuts.

Guests are still offered a wide selection of teas from the tea specialist Ronnefeldt, a leading supplier of high-quality tea. From the delicate “Darjeeling Spring Time” to the full-bodied and intensely flavoured “Splendid Earl Grey” or rare teas such as “Smoked China” which is roasted over pine wood, there is a tea to please every palate. The tea masters not only recommend “White Yunnan Silver Tips” made from tea buds plucked by hand and withered naturally in the sun, they also propose unusual tea varieties such as
“Jasmine Pearls” a rare speciality from China or a tea greatly praised by tea connoisseurs, “Gyokuro”.
Afternoon tea is served daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Lobby Lounge and also on the Bel Etage at weekends. It is priced at 42 euros per person and guests can drink as much tea as they wish and are served an étagère of sweet and savoury delights. For an extra charge of 12 euros and 18 euros respectively, guests can order a glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial or a glass of Moët & Chandon Vintage Brut Rosé.
