Salzburg’s ‘Wunderkind’ – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – was born at no. 9 Getreidegasse on the 27th January 1756. The museum open all year round and presents a range of artefacts, including historical instruments, documents, keepsakes and mementos. They moved in a new home at the “Tanzmeisterhaus” at the no. 8 Makartplatz in 1773. There you can see special attractions include Mozart‘s original fortepiano and the famous family portrait in the ‘Dance-Master‘s Salon’.
