18 November 2014 (Beijing, China) – The APEC China 2014 concluded on 11 November with the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) held at the new Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing & Yanqi Island destination, located along the lakeshore of Yanqi Lake, Huairou district.
Here's a number-cruncher’s guide to the day’s event:
Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Centre is the first conference centre in China that is located on the outskirts of the city, chosen to host a global summit.
The one-piece carpet in Jixian Hall (Where the AELM was held) spans 1,000 square metres, is handmade by more than 100 workers, and took 4 months to complete.
21 Kempinski and NUO hotels from the China Region deployed a total of 395 service staff as task force to support at the AELM.
790 Kempinski and NUO employees from across 25 provinces served at the AELM.
A total of 95 Kempinski room attendants, public area attendants and supervisors were involved.
Over 500 Kempinski security personnel were mobilised.
223 Kempinski chefs served at the AELM.
The Jixian Hall’s main door is 7 metres high.
The interior design of Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Centre took 2 months to complete.
The Interior Designers of Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Centre are from US-company Gensler Beijing. There were a total of 16 interior designers from China and the US, headed by Design Director Emma Chang, an American-born Chinese.
