Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko supports Bansko’s Summer Jazz and Opera Festivals

Once again, the hotel is a key venue for the top VIP performers of both festivals

Bansko, 14 August 2016: As Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena creates traditions, we are again bringing together various worldwide-known foreign and Bulgarian top performers for the most anticipated summer event in the region – the XIX International Jazz Festival Bansko. The concerts were entrance-free and took place from 6 to 13 August at the main square Nikola Vaptsarov in the centre of the capital of jazz. Music virtuosos and bands from 14 countries entertained the audience under the open sky during the festival week.

This year’s programme featured popular acts such as Susana Sawoff, Big Band Blagoevgrad, The Golden Buddha Jazz Band, Pankastic!, Rehan Syed Band, “The Musical In Jazz”, Naissblue, Michal Wroblewski trio, Magi Alexieva with Berthe Trio, Breakpoint, Shakatak, Alfina Scorza, Ralyzzdig’s Band, Joss Stone and Band, Vassil Petrov and many others.

Being one of the sponsors of the festival, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko was again a key location for some of the top performers. Especially for the hotel guest, there were VIP concert tickets with guaranteed seating sold. In the rhythm of the jazz celebrations, the hotel organised entrance-free jazzy nights of its own on 5 and 7 August at Piano Bar Sing Sing. Vocal instrumental group Christina Kirova Sextet entertained the guests with smooth jazz swings until late in the evening.

The XIX Jazz Festival has officially ended, but the summer festivities will continue with another exciting event – the Bansko Opera Fest. Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is among the main sponsors of the festival. This year’s edition of the open-air spectacle will start on 25 August at 20:30 with the world-famous ballet masterpiece Romeo and Juliet from William Shakespeare. The second day of the festival will begin with the tragedy Cavalleria Rustivana from Pietro Mascani dramatised by the State Opera Russe. In the last evening of the festival, State Opera Varna will perform the legendary musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Municipality of Bansko and Monte Music are the organisers of this event. Thanks to the supporters, the festival will again be free and open to all fans of opera and ballet.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko will offer attractive accommodation packages during the festival. Free passes for the VIP area will be available exclusively for guests who have booked Executive rooms or suites during the festival.
